I let myself sleep in today. That is pretty much all that went well.
I packed up all my stuff, got myself moving. I pulled my car into the garage and loaded it up, said bye to my parents and hopped in. I put it in reverse and as soon as I let off the brake there was a huge WOOSH and my car went lopsided. I put it in park, turned it off and jumped out to find my tire completely flat. My mom was peeking out the door when I looked up and she asked what happened. So I told her and she retrieved my dad. After tinking around, trying to put air in it, and struggling to get the bolts off the tire (whoever put them on last did a great job because he had his air compressor attachment thing going full force and one of them just wouldn't budge forEVER), he went to pull the tire off and it was stuck on one side. After wiggling and whatnot he figured out the problem. There is a GIANT spring (when I say giant I mean GIANT) located here:
and that spring snapped/broke/whatever when I put the car in reverse and then the broken end stabbed the tire, creating a huge gash and ruining the tire and everyone's day.
After much deliberation, it was decided that I would take my mother's car (which I'm terrified to drive anywhere because it is new and I don't want to ruin it), my father would somehow figure out how to get the car to a garage to get it fixed, and my mom would drive the truck to work until my car was fixed. Then she will drive my car to work until they come out here to visit me in February and attend a fashion show I have. At that time they will take her car back and I will have the Beige Hurricane returned to me.
After a long drive and a stop at a fabric store that was entirely useless, I got here to find a letter saying I had until the 5th to do my six month review for FoodShare. Well thanks Foodshare. Now I have to deal with you too.
Anyway, here is a photo of my car half jacked up and very sad right before I left her behind.
