So, as we all know, I've been sick for approximately eight days now. I awoke to a pleasant surprise of a lovely ability to slightly breathe, accompanied by a LOT of snot when I blew my nose. So things seemed to be progressing. I then gazed in the mirror and saw that both of my eyes were gunky and red. YAYYY PINK EYE.
WHAT THE HELL?! Can I not be healed? must I be constantly ill? APPARENTLY.
So I texted my mom asking if I can go to the ER here. Normally I would just go, however I am unsure of the new insurance she has from this new school district. We aren't covered in this area, however I thought perhaps if it were an emergency it would be okay.
Well she finally texted me saying yes, I can go. Then as I got ready I got a call from her saying, "I'm not sure how the insurance will work yada yada just make sure they know how sick you are." Ok.
Three seconds later. Mom calls again. Hey how about you wait until tomorrow and go to the ER in Menomonie? Well, look who thought of that already! So I said "well mom seeing as I have an infection in my eye I would prefer to get it out of the way instead of letting it fester in my eye and then driving all the way to Menomonie tomorrow. Ok. Go ahead.
Three seconds later. Mom calls. How about you go to the medical center in town? It will probably be cheaper and then you won't have to wait so long. However, if you can't get in today, you'll have to go to the ER. Ok, mom, I will do that. She sheepishly remarks that she will stop calling after that.
So here I am. On the phone calling the Florence Medical Center. I was put on hold (after not speaking to anyone except recordings and pressing buttons (WHAT is this?! a large town? NO)) for five minutes. I gave up and hung up, thinking perhaps I'd call again and it would be a fresh start. Well I'm still on the line, it's been 18 minutes and 26 seconds, and no one has picked up. It is just now after 4:00PM. IT MAKES SENSE THAT NO ONE SHOULD ANSWER. WHAT THE FUCK. I hate incompetent services in small towns. So DUMB.
So, since tonight is Friday Night Frights on the History Channel, and I don't want to miss anything on that, plus my parents are going out to eat and I never miss a fancy meal (anywhere not at home is considered fancy), I'm not going to the ER or to the Medial Center. Pink Eye can suck on that. This will of course put a damper on my day tomorrow when i arrive in Menomonie, however I don't really care. I'm sick of being sick and I don't care who gets this infection anymore. Not my eye, not my problem.
