I had to make a trip to SR Harris for some swatches and decided I should probably meet up with j.lou and the.victor for some lunch and perhaps Savers. I met them at Yang's for lunch, and we had a delectable lunch of sesame chicken, fried wontons, and shrimp lo mein (even though we were not by the sea, I allowed it). After said luncheon we headed to Savers. I made out like a BANDIT. I got two suitcases and a shoe shine box. The suitcases I will use for my studio display, and the shoe shining box will probably make an appearance because it's so damn adorable. I also got some candles that are literally the length of my arm. If you don't know, that is really effing long for a candle. I cannot WAIT to burn the crap out of them. I got some really awesome boots for $8. I looked them up online and they're selling on ebay for $80. I think I got a good deal. The size says 11 I think (I can't check right now because I can't take them off), but they are pretty much the perfect size. However, my calves are huge. I like to call them gigantocalves. And knee high boots are usually an issue. SO when I got home I put them on and initially they zipped about halfway
After forcing m.cass to retrieve a pair of pliers I had him attempt to wrestle me into the boots. I'm not kidding about these gigantocalves. They really are the size of what I would assume Bigfoot's calves are.
We got one all the way zipped, and the other isn't quite there, but I'm wearing them to stretch them. So we'll try and zip more later. They're real leather there will be some give eventually.
Back to the Savers experience. I found this FANTASTIC horn with which I could play Lord of the Rings if I wanted. However, my excitement was not reciprocated by my companions, so I did not purchase it.
I found a GREAT apron. It said "Grandma's Apron" and had pockets for things grandma might carry around the house. It was all fine and dandy until I got to the last pocket. Which was labeled tranquilizers. That seems a little old world.
If only I had found some awesome clothes...then perhaps I could have really had well rounded trip.
Off to sort my swatches...
