So we rounded out the week of Cut & Sew, and went on our merry way with a little baby mound of homework. We have a three day weekend, which is looking pretty fantastic right now since I'm loving doing nothing. I have gotten quite a bit of homework done, however, The Holiday is on, and I've never really watched the whole thing. Who knew, I fell in love with this movie immediately. Why does Cameron Diaz get the insanely attractive brother? And more importantly, why did I never get to smooch on any friends' brother? Also, why were there rarely ever OLDER brothers? All of these questions I've probably mulled over my entire life. So let's just move on.
Yesterday cat.man and I took a little trip to Eau Claire for some thrifting and some Olive Garden. Olive Garden was a main target on this trip. We were in need of some soup, salad and breadsticks. However, we both overate (I obviously ate more, because of my previously stated outlook on all you can eat menus)and were in pain most of the rest of the day.
Before we went to Olive Garden, we went to the Hope Gospel Mission Bargain Center. It was, as usual, amazing. The BEST part, however, was when cat.man was perusing a McFlurry making machine, and right as I rounded a corner with our collective cart, she dropped what sounded like the entire thing on the floor. A man hurried up to her and asked if she was okay, and she responded she was fine. I almost pooped my pants in my attempt to stifle my laughter, and then went to check on her. It really set the bar for the day. While we were at Savers, we were at the front of the store by the books. Cat.man was sorting through a pile of knitting books (she bought approximately four thousand of them), I rounded a corner and in the process knocked over a Caution Wet Floor sign. An older lady behind me glanced over as I said "Oh, I really knocked that over didn't i?" She laughed a little and I went on my way. However, sadly, cat.man didn't hear it.
While perusing the Savers lamp section, cat.man located this LOVELY lamp. It was a huge let down when we found out that the cord was cut off. I have no electrician skills so we didn't buy it.
I did find a nice lamp at Hope Gospel, and I also purchased another pressing tool, my collection is growing. At Savers I purchased another copy of the original Little Mermaid VHS
Is it completely necessary? No. However, when I see one, I have to buy it. It's fantastic. I also purchased a gift for j.lou, and a new candle. It's a great shape. It should melt in an amazing fashion.
J.lou visited me today for a little bit. She bursted through the door with Pizza Hut wings and a smile. We spent a lovely hour or so chatting with Alice in Wonderland playing in the background. It was wonderful, however short lived.
After she left I took a nap that was supposed to be 45 minutes. It turned into like 2 hours or something. I woke up in time for some TV viewing and then Finding Bigfoot. It was great. They were in Big Moose Lake, MN, which is fun, however terrifying. Although it's irrational and childish, I am afraid of everything. And yes, this means that I am afraid of Bigfoot being where I am when I am in the woods. What is worse is sometimes if I let my mine wander (it wanders freely, I should probably stop pretending I have control over it), I am afraid he's nearby any time I'm outside. It's mostly my fear of the dark (which is really a fear of the unknown and unseen) and that tingly feeling I get on the back of my neck, but I always put a face/owner to the cause of my fear. If that made any sense, please applaud me.
So I just took a break from my croquis and flats for Cut & Sew, and I'm going to return to this now, joined by my glass of wine.
