Friday: DISASTER, as we all know. I finally finished my garment for grading and then got some partial work done on my next assignment before heading home to get the house cleaned before the J.lou express steamed into town. I got a large amount done because I had extra time. Why did I have extra time you ask? Well because j.lou got lost! She got good and lost. But then she made her way there. It was good to have the extra time though, because it gave me enough time to make Jalopeno poppers for her as a surprise. I made SO many. Let me rephrase that, I used an entire package of cream cheese and almost an entire package of turkey bacon to make them. WHAT. So upon arrival I was giddy and squeal HELLLOOOO! That and the surprise of jalopeno poppers changed j.lou's shitty day into a MAGICAL evening!
This of course lead into our evening with e.nel and Rooney (e.nel's adorable pup). We had wine, 5 different cheeses, crackers, mandarin chicken from trader joe's (YUM) and of course the poppers. We found a few shapes in the chicken. This one is either Santa or something else...e.nel then decided an alcoholic beverage was in order. She went and purchased this gloriously foamy beverage from the gas station. 99 cents of glory.
Also in this time we watched various youtube videos and laughed hysterically. Also, one of my favorite things about e.nel is her knack for dressing up in the cutest outfits. She found this at my home and deemed it worthy of experience.
SATURDAY: Woken up by the ever-exuberant j.lou at 8:14AM. She insisted that we "get ahead of the crowd" at our destinations for the day. I insisted upon lying in my bed for approximately fifteen more minutes until I could tell she was upset by my defiance.
So we went to Eau Claire and hit up TJ Maxx. Best decision of our lives. We both got new purses, I resisted the temptation to buy some amazing Dolce Vita wedges (I still need them even though they're $60) and we each also bought various other items. We then transfered all belongings into new purses and hit Hancock for lining fabric.
Then off the mall where we determined it was necessary to have Chinese food for lunch. BEST DECISION OF LIFE #2. So delicious. Then we went to Victoria's Secret and took advantage of the panty raid. On the way we stopped to lotion up our hands at Bath & Body Works and Rem showed us a glorious hand lotion that i can't remember the name of but it involves silkiness. After stopping at various shops in the mall we then got in the car and after a long chat determined it necessary that we return to TJ Maxx so I could try on the glory shoes again to be sure I didn't need them. I resisted again, and good thing, because at Savers I found some glorious items. I found 2 dresses I can wear on my New Orleans trip (4 more days!) and a skirt (I'll need to hem), shoes, some candles.......I think that is all. It was a great trip. We then headed home and watched Titanic, ate Pizza Hut Buffalo Wings (Medium. Delicious) and then decided eventually (at 8:30PM) that a trip to Walmart was a necessity. I wanted to get the alka seltzer you take for colds (It so works!) and j.lou wanted some ultra pink lip gloss.
WELL. I'd been looking for a pink christmas tree (or a white one I could paint pink) for a while, and pretty avidly that day. I forced j.lou into the Christmas area of the store (she's not a fan of participating in Christmas before Thanksgiving) and we eventually wandered to an aisle containing pink ornaments. Well while we were looking all the sudden we both saw a tiny white christmas tree. HOWEVER. We were both looking in opposite directions. This resulted in both of us pointing and hopping and sqawking that the other one needed to look in the direction of our pointing but neither would look in a different direction. It ended by j.lou dipping behind me as I lunged for one. She then screeched that we were in fact idiots because we had been standing in front of a full shelf of mini christmas trees. There were white ones, green ones, blue ones, and PINK ONES. We snatched one up and threw it in the cart. Then j.lou had to talk me out of buying all of the pink ornaments. I settled on cupcake ornaments and plain pink ball ornaments. It's a glory not many get to behold, unless they come over.
We then went home and after fighting in the car about when I got to set it up, I finally won and got to set it up when we got home. J.lou insisted I put it in the closet until after Thanksgiving but I refused. I'm a strong-willed lady. We watched Alice in Wonderland (for the second time) and then hit the hay. Another glorious day done.
Oh and I made Buffalo Chex Mix. We tried the Buffalo Popcorn seasoning from Target, but it didn't work out as well as the Buffalo Wild Wings stuff.
THEN. Today I was awakened by her again, except this time it was a phone call. I then straggled out slowly after waking up from a horrific dream that my mom was forcing me to marry someone and then when the wedding day came, they were all discussing how they were doing other things. I asked "Am I not getting married today?" and they responded, "No, you thought that was for real? oh we were just kidding." and I was pissed and yelling and blah blah.
So we then watched Hot in Cleveland for hours and had some delicious hot melty sandwiches. I also insisted we watch Peter Pan and eat spinach dip from Trader Joe's.
Right before j.lou left, I realized I needed more fabric for my jacket and I wouldn't have time to get it tomorrow. So I checked the hours for SR Harris and found that they close at 5:00PM on Sunday. It was 2:11PM. SO in a whirlwind I got dressed and headed out at the same time as j.lou. It was a bittersweet departure but we made it work. Also I am pleased to report that it was Rude Bitch Sunday at SR Harris. It's where no one says excuse me and everyone is in your way. I was so pissed. Good news: I got the fabric and some amazing pig skin leather for my elbow patches. Amen.
